The scribing is DONE!!!!

I know I have been missing my normal updates, one excuse is a lot of travel in the past two months! The other more understandable one (I pack my Gundam in my suitcase when I travel) is that this being my 2nd PG, and my first one with added details, the sheer amount of work is insane!

Here is the final quick look, I have to wait until I get back to Japan before I can complete all the work; I still need to pla-plate, and add a few other details. I worked really hard to make sure the details I added were ones needed and did not over do it on this guy. A few future builds are going to be a lot more detailed and over the top, so I am looking to make the 00 Raiser look like its supposed to, with a lot of the details coming from the paint. The plan for this will be shown later.

All right enough delay; to the Gundam! It is not assembled, I dont want to wear out the Poly Caps, and the head is still in Japan.

With the body I cut a few small pieces out, there are strips is iridecent rubber underneath the armor I tried to bring those out more.

There is a lot of sanding that still needs to be done, but I think the lines came out nicely. It will really make the GN Arms sword look good as you can see below.

The Gn drive holders needed some added detail for sure! I went with a more RX-78 look with the panels.

The arms I did remove a few pieces from the panels, and added a lot of extra details. I even got to use my new rivet tool, looks pretty good making more of a ring and actually raising the center piece up a little.

There is still a considerable amount of work to be completed, but the largest part for me anyway is done. A little bit of plate (maybe), sanding and then I get to use my new Airbrush!!!! I am excited to see it, as it was delivered after I left Japan. My PG Red Astray also came in so my Brother-in-law will be happy, that one will not look anything like its meant color wise when I am done. Hope you like what you see here, and I will be more consistent with updates once I am back home. Keep building!

G-Shot!

Well I am normally not one to tempt fate and see how good I am, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity! Gundam Guy/GG Infinite putting on a photo competition how awesome is that! The judges are some of the people I look up to in the Gundam community and people whom I respect the opinions of. So I am entering 3 of the categories. I thought I would share my entries with the rest of you.

So here they are:
1. Best Straight Built
RB-79 Ball Ver Ka. This is one of the only Gundam I have no intention on changing. I really like this one the way it came and so I left it OOTB.

  2. Best Customized Gunpla
The O Ver Tember. This is probably the build I am most proud of as it took me 3 months to do and really tested my skills as a builder. While I stayed with the yellow color base, I took the plain lines of this guy and gave it more of a WWII tank look heavily riveted and harsh paint lines. Adding weaponry from the Freedom (Gundam Seed) because something this huge needs more then a few beam sabers and a beam rifle in my opinion.

3. Best Paint Job
Of course for a paint job this is the one I thought of instantly. The drastic color change from the original that I did on this one still motivates me to push further with paint schemes and decals. All though I do my best to stay away from dry rub decals now.  :)

There you have it my 3 entries into the G-Shot competition; to the other competitors I wish you luck and look forward to seeing who comes out the winner!

Sword Impulse Snap fit complete. PG Raiser Update.

All right. Nothing like a long vacation to give you time to relax and neglect things!

As the title says over the holidays I snap built the Sword Impulse (MG) that I am building for a friend, and continued to scribe the PG Raiser. The Sword Impulse had to get done before my flight back home as I needed the suitcase room!

The Sword Impulse was a super fun build, pretty much an identical build to the Impulse, but that is to be expected. As I said I am building this for a friend so the color scheme was chosen for me, but it will be a challenge none the less. There is a lot of room to do some really cool things with this guy though, so I will have to sit down and make some decisions before starting anything. The PG Raiser is first on the list though!

The colors requested are gloss red and flat/matte black, I think I am going to leave the blue in there and make it a really dark metallic blue, but that one is still in the idea stages. But with out delaying here are the pictures.
In the series this Gundam come in multiple pieces. Once it is painted I will not be transforming it, so I thought now was the best time. Its pretty cool, and it is tempting to build one just for this form, but who knows.

I will post some pictures up of the PG soon, its pretty much your basic draw line, dymo tape line, scribe line. Nothing too interesting. Hope everyone had a great holiday and here's to a great new year!
